Many things come to my mind when I think of what I would like to do by the end of 2021.
Although I don’t expect things to go back to normal again by the end of this year, once this is over I want to be able to see our daughter in Holland and other family members in the UK.
It has been really hard not being able to see our daughter and the UK family for almost a year.
Before the coronavirus outbreak, my social life looked great.
I had been working very hard in Liverpool, moved back to my home country, and started to work freelance – the first time in my life, enjoy making plans with my friends and spending quality time with my family. Then everything stopped!
By the end of 2021, I want things to go back to as normal as it can be.
The pandemic has taught me that time for the family is really precious and valuable. These last eight months have made me miss a lot of things I took for granted.
If I learned one thing, it’s how important the people around me. Another thing that made me realize how much I value going out and doing things.
There are little activities that I miss like going to a fancy dinner where we get dressed up or squeezing onto a little wooden table in a beer garden.
The sad thing is that I don’t see where we’re heading by the end of 2021.
It doesn’t seem all that much different than 2020, maybe for us, for the Turkish people. There’s no vaccination program so far in Turkey. So I’m keeping the bar low, no goals, just one day at a time.
Another expectation is to turn this summerhouse into a normal home that can be lived continuously not just for the summer months.
Fırst of all, all windows and doors will have renewed by spring, and then we’ll buy some new furniture.
We’ll spend the money that we couldn’t spend due to the pandemic to settle on this coast. Sounds like we have a good plan. I hope we will find the opportunity to share our house with others this summer.
Hopefully, we can finally look forward to spending time with the family and friends after being on our own for the whole year.

I hope our plans to see each other are realised.
