IT’S SNOWING!

The winter we’ve been waiting for has come with the New Year. It was something we have been wondering about since our decision to stay in this summerhouse during the winter, what will we do on the cold days.

Now, suddenly the temperature is -2 in the daytime and -5 at night. It was beautifully snowing yesterday. But we don’t need to go to a hotel as we thought before, we can manage to stay here.

There are two electric heaters in the living room and one in the bedroom. Luckily the icy cold weather is coming to end in a couple of days and we return to normal winter conditions.

Until this extremely cold weather, our days were the same; long walks on the beach, playing with the dogs, and coffee in the garden with our neighbors. We still shop online because going to the grocery stores once a while is still complicated for me. Mike hates shopping with me so he goes on his own sometimes.

THE VACCINATION PROGRAM

While weekend lockdowns and evening curfews are still on, the authorities gave the go-ahead for the emergency use of the COVID vaccine produced by China’s Sinovac.

President Erdogan received his vaccine in front of TV cameras on Thursday, to aim to lighten any public doubts about the effectiveness of the shot.

More than 700,000 healthcare professionals had their vaccines in just three days. We’ve been losing so many doctors and nurses so it’s great news.

About 3 million doses already arrived in Turkey.

This vaccine has been found to be 50.4 % effective in Brazillian clinical trials. So, there are some doubts over this vaccine as you can guess.

Unfortunately, there are no priority lists for chronicle illness people so I have to wait for my age group.

Therefore, I’m not excited, it probably will be a long time before I have my vaccination. Unlike many countries, Turkey is late to secure enough doses for all of us. No surprise in there.

Be healthy and happy wherever you are.
