Welcome to Music Week 2.0.
Last year we had a great time as our Storytellers shared a couple of songs that mean a lot to them. Music Week 1.0 culminated in the launch of our first Spotify playlist
This time around our Storytellers share a few thoughts on the ways in which music has sustained them during the pandemic.
They also list a few of the songs that have got them dancing; cheered them up; helped start their days, and helped them to sleep at night.

MUSIC AND ME
In this global pandemic plus our own political turmoil in Turkey, music has become my escape to find some joy and comfort.
Music created a sense of participation in my isolated life in the last 12 months.
While missing my normal social life music was here to connect with each other, manage my stress, and a reminder of the good old days.
Maybe that’s why the songs on my list may feel a bit nostalgic.
Happy song – Ya Rayah - Rachid Taha
Sad song – Where Dreams Go To Die - John Grant and the BBC Philharmonic
Mood changing tune - You Can Call Me Al - Paul Simon
I have to dance when I hear – Let’s Dance - Chris Rea
Morning song – 2-4-6-8 Motorway - Tom Robinson Band
Night-time song – Bridge Over Troubled Water - Simon and Garfunkel
Most listened to of 2020 – The Best - Tina Turner
I couldn't have made it through 2020 without listening to – Violin Concertos - Bruch & Mendelssohn
