Hi everyone, I hope you are well and coping with whatever your local conditions and restrictions are like.

Well, here we are. 2021 rolls on and now it’s March, the first day of Autumn Down Under.

Just to make it feel right it's 17c/62f and raining today. It seems the right kind of weather for gazing out of the window and pondering what the rest of the year will hold.

Again I feel so lucky to be living in this part of the world where life carries on pretty much as normal and we just seem to all go about our business.

I can’t help wondering though when and if things really will be back to normal?

The vaccine is getting rolled out all over the world but we are yet to see how effective it will be. What this virus will do and become to try and get the best of the thousands of scientists who are trying to beat it?

It looks likely that International travel may not happen for us this year, either in or out of the country.

At the very least a vaccine passport or whatever they wish to call it.

I know it’s a selfish First World Problem but I just want my best mate and my Dad to be able to come over and visit without having to spend 2 weeks in quarantine.

I have no problem getting a vaccine shot, wearing a mask, or any other precautions that will enable this to happen and I’m sure most people won’t.

It still angers me that many Governments did not take stronger measures sooner and as a result, hundreds of thousands have died and countless lives have been torn apart and ruined.

I do think that things are getting better and we have turned some sort of corner but I’m sure we are months behind where we should be.

I can’t imagine what life must be like for so many people in the worst affected areas and yet here I am.

Having a cup of tea and a slice of cake and staring out of the window. Feeling a bit ashamed that I just want to see me mate and me old man.
